Film Magazine

This image shows my final product for my Film Magazine Front Cover which I called TheZone!.

Here is an image I drew out of what I wanted my magazine to look like. The quality of the image hasn't come out as clear as i'd have hoped of when scanning.
I first of all decided that i was going to call my film magazine after the same name of my magazine for my AS courseowkr last year which is TheZone! Although last years magazine was a music one, this year I have created a film magazine cover. I took my photogrpahic one lunch time in the drama studio in sixthform when I knew that everyone was free at the same time. I gave them time to grab some lunch, then we all met in the studio where i was able to set up my photograph. I planned my main magazine image before taking it so I knew when setting up exactly how I wanted it all to look. I placed my main to characters at the front Noah and Jennifer, then a step behind and a step to the left Dan, and to the right Gretchen and so on with the rest of the boys on the left, Jared and Todd and the rest of the girls on the right, Anna and Mandy. I also told the members of the trailer to stand like their character so I got them to Pose in different posistions such as Gretchen looking all lovingly at Dan and Anna behind her, looking in disgust. Jez looking all down and mopey, Todd looking all thoughtful, Dan standing stricking the pose, Noah and Jennifer linking arms all loved up, and Mandy holding her pregnant belly. Once
I had taken my photographics and uploaded them I added my chosen photo to my magazine background.

I then added some information such as the price and barcode in the top right hand corner, the magazine title and month it would be released in the left hand corner. These were two important elements which I had to include as it gave vital information to the buyers. In the bottom right hand corner I added some smaller images of other films and across the bottom I also added some smallinformation about what features inside the magazine. The writting ontop of the image is in White and the title is in Blue. The writting that features on the white background is in black.

I also added the title of the film under the title of the magazine but over the top of the image. This makes the title of the film stand out and it also highlights the image which shows all the main characters in the film. By using this image it shows what features inside the magazine.

I obtained construtive some feedback via Facebook. One comment i recieved which is shown below.

Film Poster

This image is of my final product of my Film Poster.

Here is a basic image of what I wanted my film poster to look like. The quality of the image hasnt come out as well as i'd have hoped for when scanning.
When creating my film poster I wasn't able to use Adobe photoshop to create the poster I wanted to so I just simple used a software on my computer called Paint. When designing my poster I wanted to stick to the colour theme of Royal Blue which is what was used in the film trailer. This colour is bold and really stands out so that it will catch the eye of passers by. I wanted to create a poster with lots of different images on to show the characters in different frames lights.

I was able to obtain these photographs from stills I had taken during the weeks of filming. Once i had collected all my images I started placing them onto the poster. I started off with the title and when it was going to be released first, by putting the lettering over some of the images. I felt that this gave a right effect i wanted to create but I didn't want the title to become unclear so i only stuck to using the word LOVE over the images. I also added a small heart after the wording to give the poster a softer feel to it. After I done this I was able to focus on trimming the images and making them down to the right sizing so that they would all fit onto the poster. Once I had placed all the images onto the poster background I started to move them around until i felt they looked right and so that they fitted round the title. I chose to place the title just off centre to the right because I thought that if i had postioned it in the centre it would have made it looked over crowded with the images.

I then added all the information onto the poster such as quotes of the reviews from Magazines and Celebrities which was in a large font, the 12 viewing rating which I collected from Google Images and last the information about the production company, Skyline Productions which was in a smaller font in white against the royal blue background, the directors, the website in very small writting and the main cast over two lines and the supporting cast members underneath the main cast.

I personally feel that this poster would work really well as it looks realistic and althentic. Here are some personal feedback comments I recieved after posting it onto facebook.

FINAL PRODUCT- Film Trailer

After looking at the first trailer we that made we then realised that it was far too long and didn't have enough editing techniques like transistions and more title credits. So we added these in and we were finally happy with our final product. Once finished we uploaded the trailer onto youtube which has given us some great feedback.
As uploading the video onto here failer various times I have added the link to our final product, which is available below. Enjoy!

I have also added in a link to our outtakes video which we created souly for a blogs. When looking back and seeing how funny some of the clips were we deciding to add it to youtube. This showed just exactly what went on behind the scenes of filming and the many hours of enjoyment we had making our film trailer and it also showed the ironicness of the genre 'Romantic Comedy'.
